Our Oil

General facts

Olive oil has been known and praised since the ancient times as a dietary and medical product.
All these old knowledge which has been mostly empirical, can be nowadays supported scientifically and proved through researches in people with specific medical conditions like cardiovascular diseases etc.
The Polyphenols, the fatty acids, the  vitamin E and all the other constituents that are found in the olive oil are useful for various functions in the body.

Location

Nestors Land Olive Oil is aparted by different olive groves, all found in the same are of Messinia and very close to King Nestors Palace,  bC. They start close to Ampelophyto village and go down to Reikia, 700 meters from the sea. The location, the xyrothermic condition in the summers  and the warm winters promote the growtht and health of the olives as well.

Variety

We cultivate 2 different varietes, the Koroneiki and the Mavrolia. Croneiki variety has a bitter taste in comparison to Mavrolia which is slightly sweet. We produce pure koroneiki, pure mavrolia and a mixture of 50% of each in order to satisfy every palate.

Bottling

We bottle our oil in air free containers so that there is no Oxygen in it and thus create good conditions for a a prolonged life time of the product.
